This cute little restaurant sits on the corner of one of the buildings connected to the Stanford shopping center. The inside is very chic and sleek, even the bathrooms were up to par! From the host that showed us to the table, to the waitress that helped us throughout the entire evening they were very attentive and patient in helping us through the menu. There is a beautiful selection of different types of sushi and small dishes to choose from so we had a hard time just picking one! The quality of every dish up to the dessert was carefully curated and definitely well thought out. Brussels sprout chips (5/5): fried to perfection and truly one of our favorites Hamachi Carpaccio (4/5): I really enjoyed the jam onto as it brought out a burst of flavor Salmon (4/5): very good and the sauce was very flavorful! Katana Roll (5/5): I liked that they added the soft shell crab in the roll which made it all the more worth it Cotton Candy Dessert (5/5): Definitely worth getting if you want a nice video for your social media, presentation was everything and the cheesecakes were very good!
Had a great time for lunch today. Had a variety of dishes, my guest enjoyed a sushi selection and I enjoyed teriyaki salmon. The food was excellent, but for me, the service is what will bring me back. The server/bartender named Delene is fantastic. She is great, a local hospitality professional and I'm glad to see her thriving in this restaurant. She is super competent and fun. The sushi Chef named Nelson was also fantastic. A master of his craft and had lively banter to keep us entertained. Lastly, I wanted to shout out to the GM, Mark M. Thank you for touching our table and making us feel welcomed. He ran The Village Pub; it's great to see someone of his caliber and background still doing great things in the hospitality industry. The ambience here is modern with its Asian roots. Its not expensive either: $130 for 2 guests with a drink each, a starter, a huge sushi platter, a Salmon dish and dessert. Thank you to everyone else who interacted with our table, thank you to the host for accommodating a last minute walk-in and thank you to the Kitchen for the wonderful food. Best wishes, see you soon!
So, we think this place is close to Nobu level. The dishes are delicious and consistent every time we visit. PRO: nice ambience, delicious food, shopping (Stanford Shopping Center) CON: pricey
I recently celebrated my birthday at Sushi Roku, and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable experience! A big shout-out to my amazing yelpie friend Taryn who treated me to this fantastic meal. We had the best time! The food at Sushi Roku was absolutely amazing. Here are some of the highlights from our meal: First up, we have the wagyu pot stickers. These were perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with juicy, flavorful wagyu beef. Next, the classic eel avocado roll. This is a must-try, with the rich eel and creamy avocado blending together beautifully. Then, we had the popcorn shrimp tempura. These little shrimpies were crispy, light, and incredibly tasty. I enjoyed the asparagus in this dish! The wagyu hanabi was another standout. Thin slices of wagyu beef served on some crispy rice. Its sister, the yellowtail hanabi was the showstopper though... whatever sauce they put on top had a citrus ponzu like kick and I couldn't get enough! We also enjoyed some perfectly cooked green beans and finally, my absolute favorite: the Brussels sprouts. These were out of this world, definitely on par with the ones at Nobu. I washed everything down with a Lychee Martini and the overall group consensus on their drinks were that they were STRONG. Overall, Sushi Roku made my birthday so special with their incredible food and amazing atmosphere. They came out with an incredible dessert to celebrate on the house and I was so appreciative. If you're looking for a great dining experience, I highly recommend checking them out.
Absolutely love Sushi Roku and am so excited to have them nearby! Came in to celebrate a birthday last week and we had the best time. To start we had the edamame, Brussel chips, spicy tuna crispy rice and wagyu potstickers. The edamame was pretty overcooked but the other 3 starters were so good that it didn't really matter:) I would honestly come back just to grab a quick drink and those Brussel chips-- they were insane. All of the rolls were delicious and the toro and Wagyu were both so fresh. Honestly everything we got other than the edamame was 10/10. Service was amazing and they even did a beautiful surprise birthday dessert. Beautiful restaurant-- can't wait to come back!
Enjoyed a great dinner here on a double date. We were eager to finally try this new sushi spot in Palo Alto. My friends ordered cocktails and I had a N/A cocktail. My N/A cocktail felt like a lemonade which was underwhelming especially for the price. Besides that, overall the dinner was really delicious. Here's what we ordered: * Brussels sprout chips - so crunchy and tasty * salmon and yellowtail tataki apps - refreshing and zesty * Tuna sashimi apps - solid but could have skipped * Spicy Tuna Cripsy Rice - delicious * Nigiris - fresh fish - the fish and rice ratio was great * Sushi rolls - they were good but simple Lovely restaurant! Very knowledgeable and friendly server. Can't wait to come back!
Sushi Roku had amazing food, service, and the restaurant has a great vibe! Our server Belle was so patient, attentive, and answered all of our questions. I had the brussel sprout chips which were super crispy and the truffle oil brought out a very nice flavor. I also got the tuna jalapeño roll and the katana. Both rolls were delicious and fresh, great with both soy sauce or the ponzu sauce. Overall super great experience and totally worth the price!
This was my first time going to this place, it was recommended to me by my friend! Even though it was on a weekend, Isaac was very helpful in answering all of our questions and very accommodating. I would say the food is good but the service make it even better.
Had an incredible dining experience at Sushi Roku, thanks to our waiter, Jose! He was exceptionally accommodating and attentive to my gluten-free allergy, ensuring that every dish was safe and delicious. Sushi was great, highly recommend a variety of the hanabi (crispy rice). Awesome new spot in the mall.
